Rural Women Fight Violence Against Girls

RDLN presented a panel and hosted a dialogue at the Commission on the Status of Women meeting at the United Nations Church Center in March. Our panelists included Charon Asetoyer, Executive Director of the Native Women's Health and Education Board in South Dakota; Cynthia Ellis, Peace and Justice Center of Western New York; and Michelle Cole of Cole Evangelistic Ministries in Alabama. The moderator was RDLN Issues Coordinator Shirley McClain. Jing-Yi Song, who help guide us during the NGO Forum on Women in China in 1995 assisted. The discussion feeds into our Platform for Rural Women we have been working on with women attending our CSW sessions. For more on this year's topic, see video on "Violence Against Women is Against the Law" (youtube.com/watch?v=mZw0JLPeGdE) directed by Ms. Asetoyer.
